This is a language oriented major subject. This course was introduced in the college during the academic year 2005-2006. Any student who has got a pass in English in the higher secondary course is eligible to join this course. This is a valuable course at a time when more importance is given to the communication aspects.

A candidate who completes this course successfully with an ability to converse fluently in English has the following scope:
1.Can pursue the M.A., degree course in English
2.Can pursue the M.A., degree course in linguistics
3.Can pursue the M.A., degree course in journalism
4.Can appear for civil service examination
5.Can work in call center
6.Can work as medical transcription
7.Can take up documentation work in export houses
8.Can become teacher in schools and colleges

Association in the Department:

The department of English has an association named “UNICORN LITERARY” association. Besides conducting meeting, inviting erudite scholars in this filed, the association conducts seminars and symposiums.

The association also arranges for inter-collegiate oratorical, essay and quiz competitions.
