The over all objective of the NSS is to render service to the community while studying in the college. It develops the social consciousness of students and provides them with the opportunity to work with the people around the educational campus creatively and constructively and to put the education they receive a concrete social use. Its motto is “NOT ME BUT YOU”. The college has one unit of NSS for boys. The students of the degree courses are enrolled as volunteers. It will adopt a suitable village and conduct annual camp.
The aims and objectives of N.S.S are:
a) To develop the service mentality among the students.
b) Doing service along with the public.
c) To provide an opportunity to the students a sense of participation in nation building tasks.
d) To engage in creative and constructive social action.
e) To provide facilities to have physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.
f) To learn leadership quality by doing social service

OUR SUCCESSFUL EVENTS
On 1.7.07
The 7th anniversary of kodai FM was celebrated on 1.7.07 at kongu college of arts and science. Our NSS student participated in various activities. They were appreciated by Mr. Maha somash kandha moorthi,Managing Director, kodai FM, about 7000 people gathered in the function.
On 21.07.07 and 22.07.07
A symposium on science was held on 21.07.07 and 22.07.07 at kongu college of arts and science. Mr.A.Venkatesh,District Collector participated and inaugurated the symposium, NSS students participated in this program and did their service.
On 30.7.07
Our college NSS students participated in bhagavathi amman temple’s renovation on 30.7.07 at periyakulathu palayam and did their work sincerely.

On 15.8.07
Our college NSS team adopted a village, pavithram in k.paramathy Union, NSS students celebrated republic day on 15.8.07 at union elementary school, Saalapalayam school students,and our NSS students and about 1OO local people participated in that celebration. Mrs. Sakunthala Dharmalingam,Chairman, Pavithram Union hoisted the National Flag and delivered the message. Sweets were distributed to all.

Our NSS students took part in the cultural program conducted by Rotaract club on 30.8.07 at Vasavi Mahal,Karur
On 1.12.07
Our NSS students participated in the AIDS awareness rally headed by Mr. A .Venkatesh, District Collector karur on 1.12.07.our students created awareness among the public.
On 1.12.2007
An AIDS awareness program was organized by "gramiyam" on 1.12.2007 at Karur bus stand. Our NSS won the first prize in quiz competition.
